How Care Works

Care That Is Thoughtful, Coordinated, and Designed for Alaska

Alaska Synchronized Healthcare Services provides consultative, functional, and integrative health support for adults across Alaska. Care is designed to be thoughtful, educational, and complementary to existing primary care, VA, and specialty services, with a focus on prevention, long-term planning, and continuity.

This practice does not provide urgent or emergency care and does not replace your established providers.

Care Designed for Alaska’s Geography and Seasons

Health care access in Alaska is shaped by distance, weather, seasonal travel constraints, and workforce shortages. Many communities are accessible only by air or water, and continuity can be disrupted by weather, relocation, or limited local services.

A virtual-first model allows care to continue despite these challenges. By reducing the need for frequent travel, this approach supports consistency, flexibility, and access for adults living in both urban and rural Alaska communities.

What Is Meant by a Hybrid Care Model

The hybrid model at Alaska Synchronized Healthcare Services refers to a combination of virtual care and limited in-person services when clinically appropriate and feasible.

Most care is delivered through secure video or phone visits. These visits focus on education, health history review, care planning, and coordination with existing providers. Virtual visits allow for unrushed conversations and continuity regardless of location or season.

In-person visits may be offered selectively when physical presence adds value and when geography, weather, and scheduling allow. In-person care is not routine, is not guaranteed, and is not designed to replace ongoing relationships with local primary or specialty providers.

This hybrid approach prioritizes access, continuity, and realistic care delivery within Alaska’s geographic and seasonal constraints.

Working Alongside Your Existing Care

Care at Alaska Synchronized Healthcare Services is designed to complement, not duplicate, services you already receive. Care coordination is collaborative and patient-directed. Decisions about communication and information sharing are made with your consent.

The Care Process

1. Initial Consultation

An introductory consultation provides space to discuss your concerns, review your health history at a high level, and determine whether this model of care is an appropriate fit.

2. Intake and Review

If you choose to proceed, structured intake forms allow for a more detailed review of health history, current concerns, and priorities.

3. Extended Visits

Follow-up visits allow time to explore patterns, contributing factors, and practical strategies that fit your goals, lifestyle, and access realities.

4. Ongoing Support

When appropriate, ongoing consultative support may focus on education, monitoring, coordination, and adjustment of care plans over time.

Veterans and TriWest Care Alliance Coordination

Alaska Synchronized Healthcare Services may coordinate care with the Department of Veterans Affairs and TriWest Care Alliance when appropriate, based on individual eligibility and authorization requirements.

Participation is not guaranteed and depends on VA determinations, referral status, and plan coverage. When applicable, documentation or superbills may be provided to support continuity with other systems of care.
